Common Questions from Firstpath Daycare Parents
Everything you need to know about starting your child’s journey at First Path Daycare.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday through Friday from 07:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We are closed on weekends and statutory holidays to allow our staff to recharge and spend time with their families.
Do you offer government childcare subsidies?
Yes! We are a fully licensed facility, which means families may be eligible for the Alberta Child Care Subsidy and the Federal-Provincial Child Care Grant (Affordability Grant). We are happy to assist you with the information needed for your application to help make quality childcare affordable.
What is your staff-to-child ratio?
We strictly adhere to (and often exceed) the licensing standards set by the Province of Alberta. This ensures that every child, from our youngest infants to our kindergarteners, receives the individual attention, supervision, and care they deserve.
Are meals and snacks provided?
Yes. We provide nutritious, kid-friendly snacks throughout the day. Our menus are designed to meet Canada’s Food Guide requirements, focusing on fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and proteins to fuel your child’s busy day of learning.
What is your "Sick Child" policy?
The health and safety of our community are paramount. To prevent the spread of illness, we ask that children who have a fever, undiagnosed rash, or persistent cough stay home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. We follow all Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidelines regarding childcare wellness.
How do you handle transition or "separation anxiety" for new children?
We know that the first few days can be emotional for both parents and children. We encourage a “gradual entry” process where your child can visit for shorter periods to get comfortable. Our educators are experts at soothing transitions and will provide you with updates throughout the first day to put your mind at ease.
Is your facility secure?
Absolutely. Safety is our #1 priority. Our center at 205-4741 50 Ave features secure, monitored entry points. Only authorized parents, guardians, and staff are permitted access to the classrooms, and all visitors must sign in and out.
